“Some of them were dreamers
And some of them were fools
Who were making plans and thinking of the future…

…While the sand slipped through the opening
And their hands reached for the golden ring
With their hearts they turned to each other's hearts for refuge
In the troubled years that came before the deluge

Let the music keep our spirits high
Let the buildings keep our children dry….”

You can almost believe that Jackson Browne was thinking of us as he wrote those lines…

WHY no rides?

Cold. Rain. Wind. Water, and at some point Ice, on the road. Low visibility… a plague of locusts; Oh, all right, I made the last one up.

WHAT to do?

Look for SPIN Class opportunities; get your trainer back out; if the weather improves on either day; arrange your own group ride. If anyone decides to host a ride; please let us know and we’ll pass the word along.

WHAT else?

Come join us for a Tuesday night “THE HILLS ARE ALIVE” RIDE. (Please contact Chip on Facebook at “RFMC-CNY Training Wheels” or via e-mail: if you’s like to attend. )

Host your own weeknight ride. (Please contact Wendy, Molly and Chip for route ideas if you don’t have one of your own AND to have the ride posted via our various social, and not so social, media outlets.)

HOW are you going to get your rides in?

We’ve still got 16 regularly scheduled ride dates and are making plans to slot a few make-up dates into the schedule…we promise no doubleheaders.

Stay positive team; we’ll get creative and find time to get these rides in.

In the event you decide to venture out and are concerned about getting caught in an impromptu shower; here’s a few tips for "cycling" in the rain. Really REI; "BIKING??"…/cycle/11-tips-for-biking-in-the-rain
