SUNDAY CR MORNING BRIEFING...MEMORIAL MEANDER PART II

Good morning gang!

SO nice to roll out to the beach yesterday...long stretches in the saddle; having some fun, watching our team in a crisp 2X2 in my rearview...we're ready. Well, we DO have a few who still need a CR; which is why we roll this morning.

CR Weather: Mild and humid with light winds

8:00 am 58 °F;55 °F; 89%; Partly Cloudy; 2 mph ESE
9:00 am 62 °F; 56 °F; 81%; Partly Cloudy; 3 mph E
10:00 am 66 °F; 56 °F; 71% Mostly Cloudy; 3 mph ESE

UNIFORM OF THE DAY: Moisture managing lightweight warmth.

ON TOP: A wicking base under a light long sleeve insulating layer or arm warmers with your bike jersey as the outer layer. You may wish to have your Buff and a bandana (du rag) or cap.

BELOW THE WAIST: I’d go with bike shorts or 3/4 length (Capri’s) bottoms. You’ll also want your mid-weight wool or synthetic socks; full finger gloves or glove liners under your bike gloves to start.

AS ALWAYS: Have your RoadID, shades, sunblock, lip balm and a snack or two; two water bottles — one full with water; one with some sports drink — or more water if you're bringing energy chews or "bloks" as snacks - see "Fuel" post below. (3/29).

DON'T FORGET YOUR MEDS: If you use an inhaler or epi-pen, please have them with you.

DON'T FORGET YOUR HELMET...IT'S A MUST!

DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ARE ALWAYS HELPFUL.
.
Please have a spare inner tube, some tire levers and a means to inflate the tube should you need to use it. Remember to top off your tires before arriving — check the sidewall but most of you will be looking for somewhere around 100 - 120 PSI. If you're not sure about this part; please bring your pump in the car with you.

REMEMBER: SAG SPACE IS LIMITED - so plan for items you can wear or stuff easily in your saddlebag or pockets. Were it not for the kindness of Diane Cromp there would be none at all.

Please arrive at PAR no later than 7:30 We plan to roll at 8.

Whether you ride with us or on your own; Bike Month is sunsetting; get out and enjoy these last few days.

The haiku finalists are selected and we're close to picking the winner...stay tuned.

Silver spokes’ shimmer,
Tires’ hollow hum, chain’s tick—
Put me on my bike.
