Volunteer Room Dedication & Registration

Over the holiday season, the Mohawk Valley office of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC-MV) received a special gift from a long-time rider and advocate of The Ride For Missing Children-CNY. Woody Johnson bequested a donation to NCMEC-NY/MV in his will to be used to continue the organization’s mission of “Making Our Children Safer, One Child At A Time.”

New Crew Stocking Stuffer of the Day: TOOLS OF THE TRADE

Cloudy and mild (31 - mild in my book) this morning. Sandy and I enjoyed a quiet shuffle along streets accented in snow; listening to water run through the ravine; watching the bunnies cavort; snuffing and following deer tracks and the tracks of pedestrians that have passed in the night as the village slept "...dreaming sweet dreams without care...."

Cold and damp this morning s Sandy and I headed out. The last quarter moon hangs quietly in the icy mists; a few stars wink through the haze but the view is steadily closing as we walk. It's still and Sandy, after a string of long walks, senses something that makes her turn back early. I, having picked up some passing malady that kept me inside all day yesterday, am just happy to be back out in the cold air...I can feel my spirit lift with each cold lungful and am hesitant to return to the warm house. My dog wants in; while I am Tom Sexton's "Numen;" embracing the icy darkness; lost in my reverie...

In case you missed it - registration for the 2018 Ride for Missing Children-CNY is OPEN!

Riders are encouraged to register sooner rather than later. What are you waiting for? Signing up early is great motivation! Whether you need a reason to get out to spin class, are budgeting for new gear or need more time for fundraising, knowing you have a June 1st commitment is a great way to get going. And it helps the Leadership Team plan, too!
